Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mileo iOS application and the website at getmileo.com (together, the “Service”), operated by Mileo (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Mileo helps you track business mileage and expenses — logging trips, capturing receipts, and organizing them into reports. Mileo is a record-keeping tool, not a tax, legal, or accounting service.

2. Your Account

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and sign-in credentials. You must be eligible to enter into a binding contract to use Mileo. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Not Tax, Legal, or Accounting Advice

Mileage totals, expense categorizations, and any figures Mileo calculates or extracts from receipts (including via OCR or AI-assisted parsing) are estimates provided for your convenience. GPS-based trip distances depend on your device's location signal and may not always be exact. You are solely responsible for reviewing your records for accuracy and for complying with applicable tax laws, recordkeeping requirements, and reporting obligations (including IRS or other tax authority rules). Mileo does not guarantee that any deduction, expense, or mileage record will be accepted by a tax authority, employer, or auditor, and we recommend consulting a qualified tax professional for advice specific to your situation.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the expense records, receipt images, and other content you add to Mileo (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service — for example, sending a receipt image to an OCR or AI provider to extract merchant, amount, and date. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to submit it.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service — including attempting to access another user's data, interfering with the Service's operation, or using it for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose, such as submitting falsified expense or mileage records.

6. Third-Party Services

Mileo relies on third-party services to operate, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Google Vision API (receipt OCR), OpenAI (structured data parsing), and Apple / Google Sign-In (authentication). Your use of the Service is also subject to any applicable terms of those providers. See our Privacy Policy for more detail on how your data is handled.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

Mileo is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans or in-app purchases in the future, those purchases will be billed through the Apple App Store and governed by Apple's applicable terms, including auto-renewal and cancellation through your App Store account settings. We will update these Terms before any paid features launch.

8. Termination

You may stop using Mileo and delete your account at any time by contacting us at the email below. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that mileage or expense calculations will be accurate in every case.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mileo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages related to inaccurate mileage or expense records, denied tax deductions, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the effective date above. Continued use of Mileo after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
